IMAGINON
OPENS INTERACTIVE INTERNET TV STATION FOR TIMES MIRROR'S
GOLF MAGAZINE
Successful
launch of "The GOLF MAGAZINE Interactive Travel Guide"
on Internet-linked ImaginOn video CD leads publisher to
take the next step, allowing ImaginOn to offer the Guide
on a high bandwidth interactive Internet television station;
New
station, www.Channel31TV.com,
is now showcasing Las Vegas and Arizona and will expand
to at least 10 more resort areas this year.
SAN
CARLOS, CALIFORNIA, April 20, 2000 -- Calling its initial
golf travel video CD aimed at low-bandwidth Internet users
a success, ImaginOn, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMON) (www.imaginon.com)
today announced it has extended the concept into a high
bandwidth interactive Internet television channel powered
by ImOn.comTV™. The new channel, www.Channel31TV.com,
is now on the Internet and Webcasting interactive television-quality
video of Las Vegas and Arizona golf resorts, destinations
and services, according to ImaginOn, Inc. Vice President
of Business Development Sue Ann von Kaeppler. By the
end of this year, at least ten more golf resort areas will
be featured both on Web-linked video CDs, and the new Internet
television station.
"The
'GOLF MAGAZINE' branded Web-linked Las Vegas interactive
travel CD title was introduced with the March 2000 issues
of both GOLF MAGAZINE and SENIOR GOLFER magazines," von
Kaeppler said today. "The strong reader response inspired
the publisher and ourselves to build on the concept and
launch a high bandwidth, GOLF MAGAZINE-branded ImOn.comTV
interactive Internet television station."
All
of the advertisers who participated in the Web-linked CD
Travel Guide are also linked to the video on the ImOn.comTV-powered
Internet station. These advertisers include American
Golf Corp., America West Airlines, Casablanca Resort, Desert
Inn, John Jacobs Golf, Lake Las Vegas Resort, the Las Vegas
Convention & Visitors Bureau, Mesquite Resort, the MGM
Grand, OB Sports, Paiute Resort, Resort Golf Schools &
Golf Vacations, Resort at Summerlin, Rio Suites Hotel &
Casino, Spectrum Golf, Sunrise Colony and Walters Golf.
ImOn.comTV
enables any Website to provide suitably connected Web users
Internet television featuring viewer-directed branching
video fully integrated with Web research capabilities.
The ImOn.comTV product can put any traditional broadcaster,
corporation or content owner into the Internet television
business, literally overnight. The product is sold
in a variety of packages, based on the number of servers
required, and is private labeled for each station owner.
ImaginOn also offers a host of pre-and post-launch services
to ImOn.comTV licensees. The ImOn.comTV product is
a TV station in a box -- software on a server -- that is
intended to set the standard for interactive Internet television,
blurring the distinctions between "broadcast" and "Webcast."
