IMAGINON'S ImOn.comTV™ INTERACTIVE INTERNET
"TELEVISION STATION IN A BOX"
SET FOR EUROPEAN MARKET DEBUT
AT IBC 2000
Leading marketer of
turnkey interactive Internet television systems
seeks pan-European distribution network.
Border-free, regulator-free interactive Internet television is about to
open a new era in television history throughout Europe.
SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA, July 26, 2000 -- Moving aggressively
to make its ImOn.comTV™ interactive Internet "television station
in a box" available to a worldwide customer base of broadcasters
and entrepreneurial content owners, ImaginOn, Inc. (NASDAQ:
IMON) (www.imaginon.com) today announced that it will exhibit
at IBC 2000 in Amsterdam. The European market's largest single
broadcasters’ conference and exhibition runs from September
8-12, 2000 at the RAI Centre, where ImaginOn will demonstrate
ImOn.comTV at Stand
#3.314.
"The
era of border-free, regulator-free Internet-based interactive
television is about to become a practical reality for every
broadband Internet and intranet user in Europe -- conventional
broadcasters, content owners, entrepreneurs, schools, direct
marketers, and publishers," today said ImaginOn Chief Executive
Officer David Schwartz, who will introduce ImOn.comTV in
person at the September event in Amsterdam. "Our goal is
to introduce ImOn.comTV to a pan-European audience and begin
building a strong network of distributors in the major markets."
Since
making its North American broadcast market debut at the
National Association of Broadcasters Convention last April,
ImaginOn has aggressively pursued a seven-channel market
strategy that has resulted in a growing customer base. "Our
clients stand at the cutting edge of a new wave in television
history," Schwartz continued. "In fact, they are helping
to redefine the most powerful medium in the history of communication
for a new era where interactivity is a requirement and where
the distinction between the Internet and the traditional
broadcast media is rapidly disappearing.
"We believe
that the European market will respond positively to a completely
integrated, turnkey interactive Internet TV station that
costs as little as $35,000 and doesn't require a single
regulator's approval," Schwartz asserted. "Just as the demolition
of the Berlin Wall removed a physical barrier that divided
people, the Internet can serve as a new medium for video
without national boundaries or monopoly control."
Featuring
from 20 to 200 unique, simultaneous video streams at list
prices ranging from $35,000 to $84,000, each ImOn.comTV
station is a turnkey Web server that enables any Web site,
including school, business and content owner sites, to present
interactive television within a standard browser window
on any computer with high-bandwidth Internet access. ImOn.comTV's
Virtual TV Console is customized for each client, offering
its users video-on-demand, viewer-directed video branching,
instant e-commerce links and automated Web searching. Further,
unlike Windows MediaPlayer, RealVideo, Apple QuickTime and
other simple video streaming products, ImOn.comTV achieves
a new level of interactivity that makes TV on the Web truly
compelling.
What's
more, ImOn.comTV servers come with everything a customer
will need to become a Net-centric broadcaster. This includes
Java® server-client software packaged on their choice of
a Sun or Intel server, a minimum of 20 independent high
bandwidth streams of interactive video, ImaginAuthor™ software
for turning traditional video into interactive video, as
well as training and one year of maintenance and technical
support.
